Tribute paid to July martyrs in Rajshahi

RAJSHAHI, July 16, 2026 (BSS) - July Martyrs' Day-2026 was observed with due dignity in Rajshahi under the initiative of Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC).

On the occasion, RCC Administrator Mahfuzur Rahman Riton paid homage to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives in July mass uprising by placing wreaths at the July Martyrs' Memorial at C&B Crossing in Rajshahi city this morning.

After placing wreath at the memorial on behalf of the Rajshahi City Corporation, he paid tribute to the martyrs along with family members of the July martyrs and July fighters.

At the time, the RCC administrator recalled with deep respect the sacrifices of the martyrs in the July mass uprising and wished the July fighters good health.

Meanwhile, separate tributes were paid on behalf of the Rajshahi City Corporation Employees' Union.

RCC Chief Executive Officer Rezaul Karim, Executive Magistrate Nazmul Alam, Superintending Engineers Khairul Baker and Ahmad Al Moin Parag, Chief Revenue Officer Abu Saleh Noor-e-Saeed, Executive Engineers ABM Asaduzzaman Sweet and Nilufer Yasmin, Employees' Union President Md Saki, and officials and employees of different departments and branches were present.

To mark the day, special prayers and munajats were arranged after Zuhr prayers at mosques, including Sonadighi Jame Mosque and Nagar Bhaban Waqtiya Mosque, seeking forgiveness for the departed souls of the July martyrs.

Special prayers were also arranged at temples, churches, pagodas and other places of worship.
