JCD President Rakib visits martyr Abu Sayeed's grave

RANGPUR, July 16, 2026 (BSS) - Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) President Rakibul Islam Rakib visited the grave of Abu Sayeed, the first martyr of the July Uprising, at Babanpur village under Pirganj upazila of Rangpur today.
 
Accompanied by central and local JCD leaders, Rakib laid tribute at the grave and offered prayers for the departed soul.
 
After visiting the grave, he paid a courtesy call on martyr Abu Sayeed's father Md Mokbul Hossain, mother Monwara Begum and family members and inquired about their well-being. 
 
Earlier, he left Rangpur city for Babanpur village in the morning. 
 
Meanwhile, he attended a rally organised by the Begum Rokeya University unit of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal to mark the second martyrdom anniversary of Abu Sayeed and observe July Martyrs' Day-2026, where he was present as the chief guest.
 
Earlier on Wednesday night, he visited the Chhatra Dal's divisional student rally site and Shaheed Abu Sayeed Chattar in the city.
