Minu lays foundation stone of Academic Building at Rajshahi Polytechnic Institute

RAJSHAHI, July 18, 2026 (BSS) – Land Minister Mizanur Rahman Minu, MP, today laid the foundation stone of a new academic building and inaugurated the Alumni Association office at Rajshahi Government Polytechnic Institute.

Earlier, as part of the government's '25 Crore Tree Plantation in 5 Years' program, the minister as the chief guest, also inaugurated a tree plantation program on the institute premises.
 
Administrator of Rajshahi City Corporation, Mahfuzur Rahman Riton, participated in the tree plantation, foundation stone laying of the new building, and inauguration activities of the Alumni Association office as a special guest at the ceremony.
 
Chairman of Rajshahi Development Authority Abul Kalam Azad Sweet, Principal of Rajshahi Government Polytechnic Institute AJM Masudur Rahman and President of Rajshahi Government Polytechnic Institute Alumni Association Mahmud Hossain were present at the event.

Members of the Alumni Association, officials of the Education Engineering Department, Rajshahi, teachers and students of the institute, political leaders and distinguished persons were also present.
 
According to concerned officials, the construction of the new 6-storey academic building will further enrich the campus environment for providing quality education to students.
 
Besides, the new alumni office will enhance communication and activities between the former students and the institution’s current students.
