DMP files 1,744 cases for traffic law violations

DHAKA, July 26, 2026 (BSS) - The Traffic Division of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has filed 1,744 cases against traffic law violators during drives conducted in different parts of the capital.

According to the DMP media and public relations division, during the drives, police also dumped 504 vehicles and towed away 265 others.

The DMP spokesman said Ramna Traffic Division filed 86 cases, Lalbagh 143, Mitijheel 295, Wari 197, Tejgaon 212, Mirpur 382, Uttara 250 and Gulshan 189.

The DMP said that drives were conducted across different areas of the capital on Tuesday (July 25).

The traffic division would continue such enforcement drives to maintain traffic discipline in the metropolitan area.
