CTTC arrests convict wanted in one-year jail sentence

DHAKA, Sept 6, 2026 (BSS) - The Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit of Dhaka Metropolitan Police has arrested a man wanted in a case carrying a one-year jail sentence and a Tk 30 lakh fine.

The arrestee was identified as Md Kamrul Hasan Sarkar, 45.

A CTTC team arrested him during an operation in the South Khan area of Dhaka at around 9:35pm on Saturday, according to a police press release.

Police said Kamrul was wanted under a Criminal Revision (CR) warrant after a court sentenced him to one year in prison and fined him Tk 30 lakh.

Following his arrest, he was handed over to Uttara East Police Station for further legal action.
