Three children die with measles symptoms

DHAKA, Sep 06, 2026 (BSS) - Three children died with measles symptoms across the country in the past 24 hours, according to a press release of the control room of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) here today.

It said the number of patients who died with confirmed measles and measles symptoms has reached 994 from March 15 to September 6.

According to the release, 1,043 suspected measles cases were reported in the past 24 hours, while the number of suspected cases reached 164,148 from March 15 to September 6.

The number of confirmed measles cases stood at 55 in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 19,696 since March 15.

From March 15 to September 6, a total of 144,168 people suspected of having measles were admitted to hospitals. During the same period, 138,772 patients recovered and were discharged from hospitals.

Three children died with suspected measles in the past 24 hours, while a total of 894 children have died with suspected measles since March 15.

No one died of confirmed measles in the past 24 hours. Since March 15, a total of 100 children have died of confirmed measles.
