17-year-old Bangladeshi spinner passes away

DHAKA, Jan 5, 2025 (BSS)—Promising spinner Mohorom Hossain Mohin passed away last night at Dhaka Medical College and Hospital.

He was 17.

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) announced his death in a press release and expressed condolences.

“The BCB is deeply bereaved at the death of Mohin and extends deepest condolences and sympathies to his family,” the BCB release said.

Mohin, a left arm spinner, was a registered player under the BCB’s Age Group Tournament Committee. He had represented the Dhaka Division South Under 18 Team.

Mohin was scheduled to play the national-level Young Tigers Under-18 tournament in Cox's Bazar from Monday, but after showing sign of acute stomach pain, he was taken to Dhaka.

Mohin hogged the headline by claiming 16 wickets in five matches in the divisional level competition recently.

Mohin's first namaz-e-janaza was held in Hasnabad area of the capital on Sunday morning. After the second namaj-e-janaza in Gournadi, Barisal, he was buried in the family graveyard.
