DHAKA, Jan 7, 2025 (BSS)- Abahani Limited Dhaka finally took their sweet
revenge as they beat their arch-rival Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited by a
solitary goal in the much anticipated grudge match of Bashundhara Group
Federation Cup Football held at Shaheed Dhirendranath Datta Stadium in
Cumilla on Tuesday.

After the barren first half, forward Mohammad Ibrahim finally broke the
deadlock scoring the all-important goal for Abahani Limited in the 74th
minute of the match.

Mohammedan, however, tried their best to stage a fight back in the match but
failed to score any in the remaining proceeding.

Abahani's goalkeeper Mitul Marma and defenders foiled several attacks of
Mohammedan in the dying moment.

Earlier, Dhaka Abahani lost to Mohammedan by 1-0 goal in the ongoing
Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) at the same venue rode on a lone goal by
Mohammedan captain Souleymane Diabate in that match.

Cup.

Young Men's Club on January 21 and February 4 respectively.

Mohammedan Limited earlier made losing start in the meet as they suffered a
solitary goal defeat to old Dhaka outfit Rahmatganj Muslim and Friends

overwhelming 6-0 goals victory over Chittagong Abahani Limited in their
second group match.

While the sky blue Dhanmondi outfit Abahani Limited started the tournament
with a 3-0 triumph over Chittagong Abahani Limited.
