JHENAIDAH, Jan 8, 2025 (BSS)- The Primary School Gold Cup Football tournament
inaugurated at Birshreshtha Hamidur Rahman Stadium in Jhenaidah on Wednesday.

Jhenaidah Deputy Commissioner inaugurated the meet as the chief guest by
releasing balloons.

District Police Super Mohammad Manjur Morshed, Additional Deputy Commissioner
(general) Mohammad Saifur Rahman, Sadar Upazila Executive Officer Razia Akter
Chowdhury and District Primary Education Officer Ananda Kishore Saha were
present in the opening ceremony.

Ananda Kishore Saha said the tournament started from today (Wednesday) would
continue till January 11 and the final match of the event would be held on
that day.

Twelve teams from six upazilas of the district are participating in the meet.

In the girls' section inaugural match, Balrampur Murutia Government Primary
School and Lebutola Government Primary School of Kotchandpur faced each other
in the opening match while Bara Kamarkundu Government Primary School of Sadar
upazila and Baluhar Government Primary School of Kotchandpur competed in the
boys' section match.

Teachers, students and parents of various school students enjoyed the matches
throughout the day.
