NAOGAON, Jan 9, 2025 (BSS)-Primary School Gold Cup football tournament 2025 for boys' and girls' has begun at A-team ground in Naogaon today (Thursday).

Naogaon district deputy commissioner Md Abdul Awal inaugurated the tournament as the chief guest.

Additional deputy commissioner education and ICT Sadia Afrin was also present in the inaugural ceremony, presided by district primary education officer Md Saiful Islam.

The organizers said that a total of 22 teams of boys and girls from each upazila of the district are participating in this five-day district level tournament which is being held on occasion of Festival of Youth 2025.

On the first day of the competition, Bahadurpur Govt. Primary School boys' team of Atrai upazila and Karajgram Govt. Primary School boys' team of Raninagar upazila participated in the inaugural match. Karajgram Govt. Primary School of Raninagar Upazila won the match by 3-1 in the tiebreaker after the regulation time ended goalless draw.

While in the girls' section match, Bhobanipur Govt. Primary School of Raninagar upazila beat Singsara Govt. Primary School of Atrai upazila by 3-0 goals.
