Liton hits century after being dropped from nat'l team

DHAKA, Jan 12, 2025 (BSS)-Few hours after he was dropped from the Champions
Trophy-bound squad, Liton Das hit his first century in the recognized T20
cricket.

The Dhaka Capitals opener followed his 43 ball-73 in the previous match
against Sylhet Strikers with this century-a 55 ball-125 not out against
Durbar Rajshahi, ai innings which was laced with 10 fours and nine elegant
sixes.

By those two innings, he showed the consistency that was the reason behind
his axe from the national team.

He is the eighth Bangladeshi batter in BPL history to hit a century. Tamim
Iqbal and his Dhaka teammate Tanzid Hasan Tamim scored centuries twice in
BPL.

His 125 however is the fourth highest individual knock in BPL and second
biggest amongst the Bangladeshi batter. West Indies Chirs Gayle with 146 held
the record of highest individual innings in BPL while Tamim Iqbal's 141 not
out was the second highest.
