DHAKA, Feb 12, 2025 (BSS) - Bangladesh national cricket team will prepare them for the Champions trophy with a practice game against Pakistan A, the team management informed.

The match will be held in Dubai on February 17.

Bangladesh will leave the country in the early hour of February 14 for their Champions Trophy journey. They were the semifinalist of the last Champions Trophy which was held in England in 2017. That was their best result in any ICC tournament till date.

This time, Bangladesh want to go past this result, said the captain Najmul Hossain Shanto, adding that their main goal is to become the champions.

“We are aiming to become champions in the tournament,” Shanto said here today in the team’s pre tournament conference.

“All the eight teams, playing this tournament, deserve to be champions. We are amongst those eight teams. These eight teams have made them available for the tournament, meaning they have the quality. I believe our team has the ability to materialize the goal we have set.”

Bangladesh will begin the tournament by taking on India in Dubai on February 20. Thereafter the Tigers will face off New Zealand and hosts Pakistan on February 24 and 27 respectively in Rawalpindi.
