Monem Munna remembered on his 20th death anniversary

DHAKA, Feb 12, 2025 (BSS)- Late Monem Munna, the country's
best ever center back, was remembered on his 20th death
anniversary on Wednesday.

The Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) remembered this
footballer with deep respect who set the unique example in the
country’s football.

Monem Munna was one of the best defenders in the country’s
football history, popularly known as ‘King-Back’, a
recognition of his defensive tenacity, playing technique and
leadership quality.

Monem Munna, one of the finest players in the history of
country's football, joined Abahani Limited in 1987 and
played for the club for eleven consecutive years. His
impressive performance has written a memorable chapter in
national team and club football. His leadership, dedication
and skill have been continuing to inspire the new generation
of footballers.
 
On 20th death anniversary of Monem Munna, BFF president Tabith
Awal, its senior vice president, vice presidents, executive
members, all standing committee and officials expressed
deepest condolence to his family and prayed eternal peace of
the soul.

The former national football team captain Monem Munna, who was
born in the port city of Narayanganj in June 9, 1966, passed
away on February 12, 2005, at the age of only 38 due to kidney
complication.
