GAIBANDHA, FEB 13, 2025 (BSS)- The 53rd winter sports competition for the students of Schools, colleges and Madrashas of the district ended on Wednesday amid much enthusiasm from the students and teachers including officials concerned.

In this regard, a concluding ceremony was also held at the hall room of Gaibandha Govt. Boys' High School of the town here in the afternoon with district education officer(DEO) Rokhsana Begum in the chair.

Deputy Commissioner (DC) Chowdhury Muazzam Ahmed addressed the function as the chief guest and ADC (Education-ICT) Al-Mamun spoke at the event as the special guest.

Assistant DEO Saiful Islam, head teacher of govt. Boys High School Shushanta Kumar Dev, principal of Asaduzzaman School & College MonirulHaqueUzzal, head teacher of NurulHaque Modern High School Md. Robiul Islam Rokon, head teacher of Islamia High School Ahsan Kobir and head teacher of DariapurKiyamotUllah Girls' High School Towhidul Islam Khashru addressed the ceremony among others.

The speakers in their speeches said that sports competitions are crucial and helpful for students to flourish in their efficiency and competence in sports. So they thanked the concerned for arranging the sports competition in the district.


DC Chowdhury Ahmed in his speeches emphasized the need for conducting sports competitions as a co-curricular activity among the students side by side with studying their academic syllabuses to turn the schools into body-building popular centers in a bid to keep them physically fit all the year round.

At last, the guests formally distributed the prizes to the winners.

The students of different academic institutions of seven upazilas participated in the competition in 22 events.
