DHAKA, Feb 14, 2025 (BSS)- The 48th National Athletics competition will begin at the national stadium in the capital on Monday (Feb 17). 

Youth and Sports Adviser Asif Mahmud Shojib Bhuyain is expected to inaugurate the three-day meet as the chief guest. 

Youth and Sports Secretary Rezaul Maksud Jahedi will present in the opening ceremony as the special guest.

Bangladesh Athletics Federation (BAF) president Maj Gen Md Nayeem Ashfaque Chowdhury will preside over the opening ceremony.

Earlier, the ad hoc committee of BAF announced a cash reward of Taka 20,000 to each record-breaking athlete in the competition.

The federation also decided to give cash rewards of gold, silver, and bronze medals with Taka 5000, Taka 3000, and Taka 2000, respectively.
