DHAKA, March 6, 2025 (BSS)- Bangladesh fell by one spot to 133rd in the latest FIFA World Ranking published by the football’s apex body (Thursday).

The Bangladesh eve football team lost almost six points and their rating points is 1091.81.

Bangladesh women’s football team played two FIFA int’l friendly matches against the United Arab Emirates on February 26 and March 2 with losing both by 3-1 goals.

Just before revealing the FIFA's latest updated rankings, Bangladesh moved up seven places to 132 after retaining the prestigious SAFF Women’s Championship title beating Nepal last year. Bangladesh has stumbled in both friendly matches against UAE at the beginning of their new journey. As a result, the impact of the defeat has fallen in their latest ranking.

The four other South Asian nations -- Pakistan (157), Sri Lanka (158), Maldives (163), and Bhutan (171) -- are all behind Bangladesh.

Meanwhile, the United States of America (USA), remained at top of the women's football rankings followed by Spain, Germany, England and Japan (three places up). However, the next three places are occupied by Sweden, Canada and Brazil, slipped one step behind.
