LAKSHMIPUR, Sept 22, 2025 (BSS) - A schoolboy was killed in a road accident in the Charruhita area of Sadar upazila in the district this morning.

The deceased was identified as Nowan Hossain, 12, a class five student of Charruhita Government Primary School and son of Md. Nasir Uddin of Rasulganj area under the same upazila.

Police said the accident took place when a speeding truck hit the boy while he was on his way to school, leaving him critically injured.

He was immediately taken to Lakshmipur Sadar Hospital where the on-duty doctor declared him dead.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Sadar Police Station Md. Abdul Monnaf confirmed the incident, saying an operation is underway to arrest the truck driver.
