Women's kabaddi team wins bronze for first time

DHAKA, March 7, 2025 (BSS)-Bangladesh women's kabaddi team has created history as they won a bronze medal for the first time in the Asian Women's Kabaddi Championship beating Thailand in the last group match today (Friday).

Bangladesh women's kabaddi team coach Shahnaz Parvin Maleka in her immediate reaction from Iran said: "This is a proud moment for Bangladeshi kabaddi," according to a message from Bangladesh Kabaddi Federation.

The former national player said: "I participated in this tournament as a player but could not win any medal. Today, as a coach, my dream has come true. Pray for us so that we may defeat Iran in the semi-final and reach the final."
