Bangladesh exit from Asian Women’s Kabaddi

DHAKA, Mar 7, 2025 (BSS) - Bangladesh women’s kabaddi team eliminated from the 6th edition of Asian Women’s Kabaddi Championship when they suffered a 41–18 points defeat to host Iran in the second semifinal match held at the Iranian town of Pardis today.
In the first semifinal of the day, India beat Nepal by 56-18 points to secure the place of final.

The final match between India and Iran will be held tomorrow (Saturday).
Earlier, on the day, Bangladesh secured bronze medal to reach semifinal of the championship beating Thailand by 42-27 points in their last group match.

In the group phase matches, Bangladesh made losing start when they were beaten by defending champions India by 64-23 points in their opening Pool A encounter but they bounced back to register a massive 52-12 points victory over Malaysia in the second match.  

The championship will serve as a platform ahead of the Women's Kabaddi World Cup, set to take place in Bihar later this year. This will serve as a preparatory ground for the participating teams to fine-tune their skills.
