DHAKA, April 6, 2025 (BSS)-Left-hand opener Parvez Hossain Emon inscribed his
name in the folklore of Bangladesh's cricket by smacking the fastest fifty
across all formats.

Playing for Abahani Limited in Dhaka Premier League (DPL) match against
Shinepukur Cricket Club today, Emon raised his half-century in just 15 balls,
eclipsing the previous record held by all-rounder Shuvagata Hom.

Shuvagata had scored a 16-ball fifty during the T20 edition of the DPL back
in 2019, a record that stood for five years.

Emon eventually was not out of 23 ball-61, leading Abahani to a 10-wicket
victory as they overhauled Shinepukur's paltry 88 in just 6.4 overs.

Farhad Reza held the record of fastest fifty by a Bangladesh cricketer in
List A cricket earlier with 18 ball-fifty in 2018.
