DHAKA, July 9, 2025 (BSS)—The 2025-2026 domestic cricket season in Bangladesh is set to kick off with National Cricket League (NCL) T20 version, said BCB director Akram Khan.
Akram Khan, also a former Bangladesh captain, informed that the NCL T20 will be held in September, this year.
“While there was plan to start the season with the Bangladesh Cricket League (BCL), we later decided to host the NCL T20 first,” Akram told the reporters today at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium.
The decision was taken, considering the upcoming Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) players’ draft, he said.
“We discussed that we need to provide the players with this platform ahead of the draft and so, the season will kick off with the NCL T20, followed by the BPL, then the NCL, and finally the BCL,” he added.
The last edition of the NCL T20 was held in 2024 in which Rangpur Division emerged as champions by defeating Dhaka Metro in the final.
