Subrora still maintains solo lead

DHAKA, July 9, 2025 (BSS) - FM Subrota Biswas of Sports Bangla still maintained solo lead in the points table with six points after seventh round of GM Zia Memorial 2025 now being held at the hall-room of Bangladesh Chess Federation.

Five players are shared the position with 5.5 points. They are IM Manon Reja Neer of Bangladesh Navy, FM Tahsin Tajwar Zia of Bangladesh Ansar, FM Sheikh Nasir Ahmed of Bangladesh Navy, WCM Warsia Khusbu of Bangladesh Navy, IM Kushagra Mohan and IM Subhayan Kundu of India. 

Four players shared the third position with five points. They are IM Md. Minhaz Uddin FM Sheikh Nasir Ahmed of Bangladesh Navy, Anata Choudhury and and Rishon Thapa of Nepal.

The seventh round matches were held today (Wednesday). In the 7th round, IM Manon Reja Neer beat FM Subrota Biswas, IM Kushagra Mohan outplayed FM Debaraj Chatterjee, IM Subhayan Kundu defeated CM Chanchal Kumer Ghosh, FM Tahsin Tajwar Zia beat FM Sakline Mostafa Sajid, WCM Warsia Khusbu outclassed CM Shafiq Ahmed,

FM Sheikh Nasir Ahmed split point with IM Md. Minhaz Uddin, Rishon Thapa defeated FM Khandaker Aminul Islam, Anata Choudhury outplayed Sk. Rashedul Hasan, FM Mohammad Javed beat Siam Chowdhury, Tashriq Saihan Shan outclassed FM Syed Mahfuzur Rahman, FM Md. Sharif Hossain beat Abheek Shah of Nepal, CM Silwal Purushottam beat CM Avik Sarker and Md Muhaimenul Islam defeated Afnan Zarif Haque.
