BCB announces U19 squad for South Africa and Zimbabwe tour

DHAKA, July 10, 2025 (BSS)-The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) today announced a 16-member team for the South Africa and Zimbabwe tour.

While the youngsters will play a three-match one-day series in South Africa, 
they will take part a tri-nation series in Zimbabwe, involving hosts Zimbabwe 
and also the South Africa.

They will play nine matches in the African tour as part of their preparation 
for the upcoming ICC Under-19 Men's Cricket World Cup 2026. If they can 
qualify for the final of the tournament, they will get 10 matches. 

Bangladesh, however, have departed the country today for South Africa, where 
they will reach tomorrow (Friday). 

After training in South Africa for two days, they will play a warm-up game 
against Cricket South Africa (CSA) invitation XI at Pretoria.

They will then travel to Benoni for the three-match series, which was 
scheduled to be held on July 17, 19 and 22.

The two teams thereafter will travel to Harare, Zimbabwe on July 23 for 
playing the tri-nation series.

The tri-nation tournament will be held in Harare from July 25 to August 10 
featuring nine round-robin matches followed by a final. Each team will play 
three matches against each other in the league phase before the top two teams 
qualify for the final. 

Bangladesh youngsters will kick off their campaign against South Africa on 
July 26, with further matches between the two sides scheduled for July 31 
July and August 6. The young Tigers will also face off Zimbabwe on July 28 
July, August 1, and 8.
 
The top two teams at the end of the group stage will meet in the final on 10 
August.
