Subrota maintains solo lead

DHAKA, July 10, 2025 (BSS)-FM Subrota Biswas of Sports Bangla maintained his solo lead in the points table with 7 points after 8th or penultimate round of 
the GM Zia Memorial 2025 held at the Hall-Room of Bangladesh Chess Federation on Thursday.

FM Tahsin Tajwar Zia of Bangladesh Ansar and IM Kushagra Mohan of India 
shared the 2nd position with 6.5 points.

Nine players shared the 3rd position with 5.5 points. 

They are IM Manon Reja Neer, IM Md Minhaz Uddin, FM Sheikh Nasir Ahmed & WCM 
Warsia Khusbu of Bangladesh Navy, Anata Choudhury, Tashriq Saihan Shan, IM 
Subhayan Kundu of India, CM Rishon Thapa and CM Silwal Purushottam of Nepal.

In the 8th round match, FM Subrota Biswas beat IM Subhayan Kundu, FM Tahsin 
Tajwar Zia defeated IM Manon Reja Neer, IM Kushagra Mohan outplayed WCM 
Warsia Kushbu, IM Md Minhaz Uddin split point with Anata Choudhury, FM Sheikh 
Nasir Ahmed split point with Rishon Thapa, Md Muhaimenul Islam split point 
with FM Sakline Mostafa Sajid, FM Debaraj Chatterjee split point with FM Md 
Sharif Hossain, Tashriq Saihan Shan defeated FM Mohammad Javed, CM Silwal 
Purushottam outplayed CM Chanchal Kumer Ghosh, FM Khandaker Aminul Islam 
defeated Md Eftekhar Alam, Sk. Rashedul Hasan beat Muhtady Tajwar Nasheed and 
Delwar Hossain defeated CM Sohel Chowdhury.

The 9th or last round games will be held tomorrow (Friday) at the same 
venue.
