Barishal’s Fazle Rabbi collapses during NCL match

DHAKA, Oct 25, 2025 (NCL) —The 27th edition of the National Cricket League (NCL) which began today saw an alarming moment during the match between Barisal and Khulna at Khulna Divisional Stadium.

The incident occurred in the first session shortly after 19th over when Barishal cricketer Fazle Rabbi collapsed on the field due to the scorching heat.

Witnessing his condition, opposition batter Soumya Sarkar and other players rushed to assist him.

Fazle Rabbi, who played two International matches for Bangladesh seven years ago was taken off the field on a stretcher and placed in an ambulance.

But he was brought back to the dressing room instead of being taken to the hospital as he gained composure and felt better.

“Fazle Rabbi felt unwell due to the heat but he is now doing fine. He was not taken to the hospital, and his condition is stable,” match referee Akteruzzaman told the reporters today. “Further updates will be provided if necessary.”
