Barishal physio Hasan passes away during NCL match

DHAKA, Oct 27, 2025 (BSS)-Barishal Division physio Hasan Ahmed passed away in 
a hospital in Khulna today after suffering a cardiac arrest during the third 
day's play in the 27th National Cricket League (NCL) fixture between Khulna 
Division and Barishal Division at the Khulna Divisional Stadium.

Hasan, 47, served Barishal as the physio in the NCL for over a decade and was 
also working as programme manager at the Bangladesh Rehabilitation Centre for 
Trauma Victims.

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) expresses deep sadness at the passing of 
Hasan Ahmed.

As a mark of respect for the departed, the Bangladesh Team wore black arm 
bands during today's 1st T20 International against the West Indies in 
Chattogram. 

A minute's silence was also observed. 

"Teams playing on day 4 of the ongoing NCL matches tomorrow will also show 
respect for Hasan Ahmed," the BCB said in a press release.
