DHAKA, Nov 13, 2025 (BSS) - Bangladesh were denied a certain victory against Nepal, conceding a goal in the dying moments of the FIFA international friendly match held at the National Stadium tonight (Thursday).

With a 2-1 lead, all was going well for Bangladesh until the 90+3rd minute, when Ananta Tamang scored a match-saving goal for Nepal, denying Bangladesh a certain victory as the exciting friendly match ended in a 2-2 draw.

Leicester City midfielder Hamza, who scored two goals in a span of four minutes, brought Bangladesh back into the match after the visitors had taken a 1-0 lead in the first half.

The first half saw the home side fail to show expected performance despite holding possession, due to a lack of organized attacks. However, the second half was different as Jamal Bhuyan and co. displayed an entertaining brand of football for the home crowd.

The breakthrough came in the 29th minute when Bangladesh conceded to Nepal following a misunderstanding among the defenders. Rohit Chand capitalized on the opportunity and gave Nepal a deserved lead with a fierce shot from close range.

After the resumption, star midfielder Hamza equalized for Bangladesh in the 46th minute with a superb bicycle kick that found the net directly, giving no chance to custodian Mitul Marma. Bangladesh earned a penalty in the 50th minute, which Hamza successfully converted to give his side a 2-1 lead.

Forwards Rakib Hossain and Faisal Ahmed Fahim had scoring opportunities in the first half but failed to make the best use of them. Nepal captain Kiran Limbu made several key saves during the first half.

Bangladesh skipper Jamal Bhuyan and left-back Zayyan Ahmed were included in the starting eleven. Canada-based midfielder Shamit Shome was left out. Jamal returned to the starting lineup for the first time since June.

Jamal led the midfield along with Hamza Choudhury, Sohel Rana Sr, and Sohel Rana Jr. The backline featured Zayyan Ahmed, Topu Barman, Tariq Kazi, and Saad Uddin, with Mitul Marma in goal. Rakib Hossain and Faisal Ahmed Fahim led the front.
