Bangladesh women's team take on Maldives tomorrow

DHAKA, Jan 24, 2026 (BSS)- Motivated Bangladesh women's team take on Maldives in their last match of the SAFF Women's Futsal Championship scheduled to be held at Nonthaburi Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand tomorrow (Sunday).

The match kicks off at 1 pm (BST).

The Sabina and Co. who are one step away from becoming champions of the maiden SAFF Futsal Championship, currently dominate the points table with 13 points from five matches while Maldives stand bottom of the table with as they failed to collect any points playing the same number of matches. 

Earlier, Bangladesh made a winning start in the tournament beating India by 3-1 goals in their opening match.

The Sabina and Co came from behind, played out to a 3-3 with Bhutan in their second match and blanked Nepal by 3-0 goals in their third match and beat Sri Lanka by 6-3 goals in their fourth match and thrashed Pakistan by 9-1 goals in their penultimate match.

On the other hand, Maldives suffered 11-1 defeat to India, 5-0 defeat to Nepal, 3-1 defeat to Pakistan, 4-2 defeat to Bhutan and conceded 7-6 defeat to Sri Lanka.

The table toppers at the end of all seven rounds of matches will be crowned the SAFF Women's Futsal champions.
