Nilphamari, Kurigram reach Teesta zone final

DHAKA, Feb 9, 2026 (BSS) - Nilphamari and Kurigram U-17 district football 
teams reached the Teesta zone final of the U-17 National Championship 
eliminating their respective rivals in the semifinals held at Shaheed Abu 
Sayed Stadium in Rangpur today (Monday).

The final between the two semifinalist will be held tomorrow (Tuesday) at the 
same venue at 2.30 pm. 

In the day's first keenly contested semifinal match, Nilphamari U-17 district 
football team beat host Rangpur U-17 district football team by 3-1 goals in 
penalty shoot-out after the regulation time ended by 1-1 goal draw.

In the regulation time, Alamgir scored for Nilphamari in the 21st minute 
while Md Mahfur netted for Rangpur in the 59th minute of the match.

Rigen of Nilphamari was named the player of the match for his impressive 
performance in the match.
 
In the day's second semifinal match, Kurigram U-17 district football team 
edged past Dinajpur U-17 district football team by a solitary goal scored by 
Md Siam in the 22nd minute of the match. 

Md Siam of Kurigram was named the player of the match for his outstanding 
performance.
