
DHAKA, June 15, 2026 (BSS) - Bangladesh pacer Hasan Mahmud produced a
sensational debut performance in England's County Championship, taking 9
wickets in the match to lead Kent County Cricket Club to a commanding 140-run
victory over Lancashire at Blackpool.
Chasing a target of 424, Lancashire were bowled out for 282 as Hasan
dismantled the batting line-up with figures of 6-69 in the second innings,
following 3-32 in the first.
His match figures of 9 for 101 marked the best
return of his professional career.
The 26-year-old pacer's six-wicket haul in the final innings was also his
first five-wicket-plus performance in first-class cricket, capping a dominant
display in Kent's third-day victory.
Kent captain Bale Drummond praised the bowler's impact, terming his spell as
"world-class" and highlighting his ability to break partnerships at crucial
moments with consistent pace and movement.
The win lifts Kent to second place in the Division Two standings,
strengthening their promotion hopes.
Hasan is currently set to feature in six County Championship matches during
his stint with Kent, becoming only the second Bangladeshi cricketer after
Shakib Al Hasan to represent the county.
