BOA mourns death of Abdus Sadeque

DHAKA, June 20, 2026 (BSS) - Bangladesh Olympic Association (BOA) has expressed condolence at the death of legendary hockey player Abdus Sadeque.

In a press release issued today, BOA President Army Chief Waker-Uz-Zaman and Secretary General Jubaidur Rahman Rana expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family.

Abdus Sadeque, former BOA executive committee member and former general secretary of the Bangladesh Hockey Federation, breathed his last while undergoing treatment at a city hospital today. 

He was 80.

With his demise, the country's sports arena has lost a dedicated sports organizer, said the BOA press release.
