WIMBLEDON, United Kingdom, June 29, 2026 (BSS/AFP) - Britain's Emma Raducanu has withdrawn from Wimbledon because of a stress fracture in her lower right leg, dealing a blow to home hopes for the grass-court Grand Slam.

The 23-year-old, who is seeded 30th, was due to start her campaign on Monday against Croatia's Antonia Ruzic.

"I've done everything possible to try to get to the start line but after a final scan tonight the niggle I've been managing has developed into a stress fracture," Raducanu said.

"I've been medically advised to stop pushing through," added the British number one, who won the US Open in 2021.
