Bangladesh beat Kazakhstan

DHAKA, July 18, 2026 (BSS) - Bangladesh's junior women's hockey team extended their winning run as they beat Kazakhstan by 2-1 goals in their last match of the Women's Junior AHF Cup held Friday night in Muscat, Oman.

Tonni Khatun of Bangladesh was named the player of the match for her impressive performance.

Bangladesh will now play the final match against the same opponents, scheduled to be held today (Saturday) night at 10.15 pm Bangladesh time.

Earlier, the girls in red and green made an impressive start by thrashing Hong Kong China 6-0 in their opening match before edging Uzbekistan 1-0 in their second outing.

Bangladesh thrashed Pakistan by 8-0 goals in their third match to maintain their domination in the tournament. The Women's Junior AHF Cup is being contested by Bangladesh, Pakistan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and Hong Kong China in a round-robin league format.

The team finishing at the top of the points table at the end of the tournament will be crowned champions.
