DHAKA, July 26, 2026 (BSS) - The first edition of the large sports festival 'Notun Kuri Sports 2025-26', organised with the spontaneous participation of over one lakh of children and adolescents across the country, is going successfully to conclude.

A colorful closing and award ceremony of the competition will be held tomorrow at 4:00 pm at the Bangladesh Army Stadium in Dhaka in the presence of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, a handout said today.

The journey of the 'Notun Kuri Sports' programme started simultaneously nationwide from the Sylhet District Stadium on May 2, 2026.

This first edition, organised to find emerging athletes from the grassroots level and to inspire the country's young children to play sports, has created a new history in the country's sports arena.

This grand event will culminate successfully in the national finals in Dhaka after the upazila, district and regional level competitions in eight different sports events - football, cricket, kabaddi, athletics, badminton, chess, swimming and martial arts, the handout said.
