Two new factories get LEED certification

DHAKA, Feb 9, 2025 (BSS) - Two new factories in Bangladesh have got LEED 
certification as Bangladesh's RMG industry remains unwavering in its 
commitment to sustainable growth.

The two factories are -- Columbia Apparels Limited and Banga Fashion Limited.

This brings the total number of LEED-certified factories in Bangladesh to 
237, with 95 Platinum and 128 Gold.
 
The details of the two factories are: 

Columbia Apparels Limited: Address: 228/1, Tin Sharak, Luxmipura, Joydebpur, 
Gazipur, Bangladesh, 1700.

Rating System: LEED O+M: Existing Buildings v4.1 - LEED v4.1, Points: 77, 
Certification Level: Gold.

Banga Fashion Limited: Address: Plot 1595, Gacha, Gazipur Sadar, Gazipur, 
Bangladesh, 1704.

Rating System: LEED O+M: Existing Buildingsv4.1 - LEED v4.1, Points: 87, 
Certification Level: Platinum.

Talking to BSS, Mohiuddin Rubel, former director of BGMEA, managing director 
(MD) of Bangladesh Apparel Exchange and additional MD of Denim Expert Ltd, 
said that 63 out of the top 100 highest rated LEED certified factories 
worldwide are located in Bangladesh.
