Mango export to US, Germany begins

DHAKA, May 28, 2025 (BSS) - Mango exports from Bangladesh for the 2025 season has started, with shipping the first consignment of the summer juicy fruit to five countries, including the United States (US) and Germany.

Some 13 metric tons of mangoes were sent to the US, Germany, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Bahrain.

Agriculture and Home Affairs Adviser Lt Gen (retd) Md Jahangir Alam Chowdhury today inaugurated the export activities at a function held at Bangladesh Agricultural Research Council auditorium in the city. 

In his speech, Jahangir Alam Chowdhury said mango production is being carried out through a project to increase mango production and exports.

“Agricultural incentives will be given considering the needs of mango farmers. Farmers will get improved mango seedlings from the horticulture center at a low price,” he added. 

The adviser asked the authorities concerned to increase mango seedling production at the horticulture center through incentives.
