DHAKA June 17, 2025 (BSS) - In order to sustainably reduce poverty in the
country and ensure inclusive growth for low-income people, PKSF needs to
bring about befitting changes to its operational strategy and design its
interventions accordingly in light of the evolving socio-economic scenarios,
technological advancement, poverty situation and human needs.

The economic, social, cultural, educational, health and infrastructural
realities of the rural areas are no longer the same as they were when PKSF
was established in 1990, therefore, it is necessary to bring about timely
changes in the areas of interventions, scope of work, and working methods of
this apex development organization.

These comments were made by the country's top economists and development
experts at a special meeting titled 'PKSF Strategy 2030' organised at the
PKSF Bhaban in the capital's Agargaon area today, said a press release.

The meeting was chaired by PKSF Chairman Zakir Ahmed Khan, and Managing
Director Md Fazlul Kader delivered the welcome remarks.

were made by Policy Research Institute Chairman Dr Zaidi Sattar, Bangladesh
Agricultural University's Former Vice-Chancellor (VC) Dr MA Sattar Mandal,
InM Executive Director Dr Mustafa K Mujeri and World Bank Dhaka Office's
Former Lead Economist Zahid Hussain were, among others, present.
