DHAKA, June 28, 2025 (BSS) - The newly designed website of the Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA) was officially launched today.

Officials concerned said this platform will play an important role in facilitating the investment infrastructure of Bangladesh and will help attract investors to invest in the country.

The new platform has given special importance to the potential investment sectors identified in BIDA's Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) heatmap.

It has updated important services for investors, policy guidelines and information on designated focal points of various ministries and investment-related organizations. BIDA's logo has also been redesigned, said a handout.

BIDA Executive Chairman Chowdhury Ashik Mahmud Bin Harun said that BIDA's old website was like a general government portal.

"It was not fully prepared to actively provide investment assistance. The new platform is in line with our commitment to an investor-friendly service model built on transparency and strategic engagement. Through this new website, the investors and stakeholders are being informed that they have a clearer perception of our commitment to creating an investment-friendly environment in Bangladesh." He added.

Nahian Rahman Rochi, Head of Business Development, BIDA, said that the international investors usually evaluate and shortlist potential investment sectors based on the information on the websites of investment agencies of a country before making an investment decision.

Therefore, he said these platforms play a very important role in providing investment-related information, answering investors' queries and highlighting the competitive advantages of the country.

Rochi said whether an investor will now show interest in a country or consider other options depends on the information on that country's website.

"That is why BIDA's new website has been designed keeping in mind the different stages of the investors' journey - where an investor can explore opportunities, assess market potentials and finally connect with the right country for successful materialization," he added.
