Narsingdi Shibpur Thana BCL president Sohel Rana arrested in city

DHAKA, Oct 6, 2025 (BSS) - Police have arrested former president of Shibpur Thana unit of Narsingdi district of the banned Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) Sohel Rana (42) from the capital's Banani area. 

A team of Banani Police Station arrested Sohel, also former general secretary of Atish Dipankar University unit of BCL around 11:05pm on Sunday, deputy commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Muhammad Talebur Rahman confirmed. 

Sohel was arrested for his direct involvement in anti-government sudden processions in the capital city to disturb the law and order.
  
Legal action is being taken against the arrestee.
