22.7pc growth of remittance inflow till Feb 1

DHAKA, Feb 2, 2026 (BSS) - Inflow of remittances witnessed a year-on-year growth of 22.7 percent reaching $19,617 million during the July 1 to February 1 of the fiscal year 2025-26, according to the latest data of Bangladesh Bank (BB) issued today.
 
Last fiscal year, during the same period, the country's remittance inflow was $15,980 million.
 
During the first day of February of the current fiscal year, expatriates sent remittances of $184 million, which was $19 million during the same day of the previous fiscal year.
