CHATTOGRAM, February 2, 2026 (BSS) - Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman today said the nation would not be divided by revisiting past issues, stressing the need to move forward under the leadership of the youth.

He expressed his determination to empower young people by entrusting them with leadership roles to steer the country toward progress. Dr. Rahman praised students from various universities for raising their voices against extortion, corruption, land grabbing and the disrespect of women.

Dr. Shafiqur Rahman voiced concern over the mistreatment of mothers and sisters, emphasizing that women must be respected and protected. He said no family card or document is more valuable than a mother's honor and underscored the need to uphold women's dignity in all spheres of life.

Calling for unity, he urged harmony and equality among people of all religions and castes, envisioning a society where everyone can live safely and securely. He pledged to work to ensure the safety of women in their homes, communities and workplaces.

The Jamaat Ameer also emphasized the goal of building a proud and self-reliant nation that is not indebted to anyone. He echoed the youth's demand for justice and said efforts to achieve justice for all citizens would continue unabated, warning that intimidation would not stop the movement.
