JAHANGIRNAGAR UNIVERSITY, Feb 2, 2026 (BSS) - The Jahangirnagar University (JU) authorities today announced that the final probe report into the incidents of attacking students that took place on the campus on July 14, 15 and 17 in 2024 would be published by April 15, 2026.

The judicial proceedings against teachers and officials accused of involvement in the incidents are currently underway and all necessary measures are being taken to ensure a thorough and impartial investigation, said a press release signed by JU acting Public Relations Director Mohammad Mahiuddin tonight.

The press release said that testimonies of the complainants and witnesses have already been recorded, while relevant information has been analysed and video footage reviewed. Statements of the accused have also been taken to allow them to present their self-defence.

The administration said testimonies and defence submissions are being re-examined (double checking) to further scrutinise the complaints. 

After completion of all procedural steps, the university authorities said a final report along with recommendations would be prepared, signed and made public by April 15, 2026.
