Injured RU teacher dies at RMCH

RAJSHAHI, Jan 14, 2025 (BSS) - A teacher of Rajshahi University (RU), who sustained injuries in a road accident at the intersection of Baro Rasta of Rajshahi city on Monday noon, succumbed to his injuries at Rajshahi Medical College Hospital (RMCH) in the early hours of today.

The deceased was Dr Puranjeet Mahalder, an associate professor of Bangla Department of RU.

"Critically injured Dr Puranjeet breathed his last at RMCH around 2.30am on Tuesday while undergoing treatment," confirmed by Dr Akhter Hossen Majumder, administrator of RU Public Relations Department.

After the incident, the teacher was taken to the RMCH and provided treatment at its Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

In a condolence message, RU's Bangla Department Alumni Association President Jamil Raihan and its General Secretary Shahid Iqbal expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of Dr Puranjeet Mahaldar.
