RANGPUR, Jan 20, 2025 (BSS) - In separate operations, Rapid Action Battalion 
(RAB)-13 on Sunday arrested an accused murderer and a dacoit sentenced to 10 
years in prison from different places in Gaibandha district.
 
"Acting on a tip off, an operational team of the Crime Prevention Company 
(CPC) of RAB-13 from Gaibandha Camp arrested Afzal Hossain, 57, of village 
Khamar Kamarjani from Dariyapur Bazar area of Gaibandha Sadar upazila," a 
press release said today.
 
Afzal Hossain is accused in a kidnapping and murder case of Gaibandha Sadar 
police station. 
 
In another raid, the elite force arrested accused in the robbery case of 
Joypurhat Sadar police station Md Khorshed, 55, of Durgapur village in 
Gaibandha Sadar upazila from Thutiapukur area in Palashbari upazila of 
Gaibandha.
 
Earlier, a local court sentenced Md Khorshed to 10-year jail term for 
committing robbery.
 
"The two accused have been handed over to the concerned police stations for 
further action," the release said.
