MANIKGANJ, Jan. 24,2025 (BSS)- Ferry service between Paturia and Daulatdia resumed after nine hours.

The service was suspended due to poor visibility as the dense fog blanketed the river bed, BIWTA sources said.

Deputy General Manager (DGM) of Paturia Ghat BIWTA office Nasir Mahmud Chowdhury said the ferry movement was suspended at 1.30 am on Friday.

At that time five ferries Bonolota, Shah Enayetpuri, Faridpuri, Shah Poran and Gouroi remain stranded at Paturia Ghat while three ferries Beer Shreshtha Jahangir, Beer Shreshtha Ruhul Amin and Hasna Hena remained struck at Daulatdia Ghat.

Two ferries- Shaheed Borkot and Kopoti were in anchored in the middle of the river Padma at that time.

After disappearing of the dense fog the ferry service became normal, the DGM said.
