Two covered vans collide: one killed, three injured

DHAKA, Jan 24, 2025 (BSS)- One killed and three others injured as a covered van hit another from backside at Jatrabari-Demra road in the city today.

Police said, the accident occurred in front of Dr Mahabubur Rahman Molla College on the Jatrabari-Demra Highway this morning.

The deceased was identified as Ridoy, 30, a driver of covered van and the injured persons are: driver of another vehicle Nazmul, 45, transport workers Arman Babu, 23, and Sharfin, 60, said SI of Demra Police Shitol Kumar told BSS.

Fire Service rescued the injured persons from the spot and taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH), where Ridoy was declared dead.

The accident happened due to lack of visibility in the thick fog at about 7 am, the SI said.  

Police seized the both transports and legal action is under-process.
