Two elderly men died as cold wave sweeps through Gaibandha

GAIBANDHA, JAN 24, 2025 (BSS) - Two elderly men died due to respiratory problem caused by severity of cold wave in the district this morning.

The victims were identified as Noimuddin Sheikh, son of late Lalu Sheikh at Tepa Padumsahar village under Saghata upazila and Jewel Miah, son of late Mahfuzur Rahman at Kazir Bazar village under Palashbari upazila in the district.

Dr. Asifur Rahman, resident medical officer of the general hospital, said the two old men had come to the hospital for treatment with respiratory problems.

Despite efforts, it was not possible to save them, he added.

As the cold wave has been sweeping over the district for the last few days, the people from all walks of life, particularly the old ones and the children, here have been affected seriously.
