7-member committee to probe attack on student coordinators in Goplaganj

GOPALGANJ, Jan 26, 2025 (BSS) - An enquiry committee has been formed to investigate the attack on two-student coordinators at Gopalganj Science and Technology University.

The seven-member committee headed by Engineering Faculty Dean Abdullah Al Asad has been asked to submit  report within three working days. 

University’s Sheikh Russel Hall Provost Md Sahab Uddin has been made member secretary of the committee. Other five members are Chairman of History Department Atiquzzaman Bhuiyan, Associate Professor of Management Studies Department Md Shamsul Arefin, Assistant Proctors Irin Parvin and Md Asif Khadel and Deputy Director of Student Advisory Department Whidul Islam Ratul.

It is mentionable that an attack allegedly carried out by the members of banned Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) that left two student coordinators injured at Gopalganj Science and Technology University (BSMRSTU) on Saturday. 

The injured are Jashim, a student of Agriculture Science Department and Omar Sharif of Physics Department. They were student coordinators during the anti-discrimination students-people uprising.

Besides, two reporters--Russel Hossain and Atiq Faisal-- were also injured at that time while they were discharging their duties.
