Mobile court fines vehicles to curb noise pollution in Magura

MAGURA, Dec 12, 2025 (BSS) - A mobile court here conducted by the district administration in the Palli Bidyut office area of Sadar upazila on Thursday imposed fines to curb noise pollution.

During the drive, seven motor vehicles creating excessive noise were fined a total of Tk 10,500, which was realized on the spot. 

At the same time, nine hydraulic horns used in the vehicles were seized.

The mobile court was led by Executive Magistrates and Assistant Commissioners Md Rafat Al Mehedi and Md Sirajul Islam. Shoaib Mohammad Shoyeb, Assistant Director of the Department of Environment's Magura district office, served as the prosecutor in the operation.

Shoaib said noise pollution causes severe harm to both physical and mental health. Use of hydraulic horns is prohibited under the law. 

He also said that monitoring is being strengthened and awareness campaigns intensified alongside enforcement to ensure environmental protection. 

He continued that drives like this will continue routinely under the Department of Environment.

Members of the district administration, the Department of Environment, and Ansar personnel assisted in the operation.
