Pedestrian killed after being hit by bus in Bagerhat

BAGERHAT, Dec 11, 2025 (BSS) - A pedestrian was killed after being hit by a passenger bus on the Mongla-Khulna highway in Bagerhat district on Thursday afternoon.

The victim was identified as Tapas Kumar Biswas, 45, who worked as a driver at Mongla EPZ.

The accident occurred at the entrance to College Road in Digraj Bazar of Mongla upazila, when the 'Super Deluxe' bus coming from Khulna struck him from behind. He died on the spot.

Police seized the bus, but the driver managed to flee the scene.

The body of Tapas Kumar Biswas was sent to Khulna Medical College Hospital, said Mongla Police Station Inspector (Investigation) Manik Chandra Gain.
